  The GWPCA

The GWPCA is a not-for-profit AKC member club who is dedicated to bringing out the natural qualities of German Wirehaired Pointers to perfection. As the AKC parent club for GWP's we are charged with doing all in its power to protect advance the interests of the breed by encouraging sportsmanlike competition at dog shows, obedience trials, field trials and hunt tests.

 

 

 Mission Statement
The German Wirehaired Pointer Club of America (GWPCA) is an AKC member club that brings together breeder and owners of German Wirehaired Pointer's (GWP's) across the country. It is our goal to bring out the natural qualities of the German Wirehaired Pointer to perfection; to urge members and breeders to accept the standard of the breed as approved by the American Kennel Club as the only standard of excellence by which GWP's shall be judged; to do all in its power to protect and advance the interests of the breed by encouraging sportsmanlike competition at dog shows, field trials and obedience trials and to conduct sanctioned and licensed specialty shows, field trials and obedience trials under the rules of The American Kennel Club.
